Printing Process

Creating a beautiful print requires both craft and emotion, with the choice of printing technique greatly influencing the final expression. Kauck selects between the traditional Chine Collé Gravure, contemporary Photogravure, and Inkjet processes, each offering unique qualities.

Chine Collé Gravure combines two papers, Japanese Kozo for the image and a heavy-textured German paper as the “host”, creating a luminous effect.

Photogravure, meanwhile, transfers ink onto a single textured sheet, making it ideal for rich, tactile images.

Inkjet provides deeper saturation of tone and hue, along with the potential for larger prints.
